Overview
Aztec Adaptive Sports is a new collegiate athletic program started by students of San Diego State University. The program’s focus is on creating a platform for up and coming adaptive athletes to compete at the college level and become the best in world. To attract future athletes and investors the program needed a logo, stationary, website,
and certain marketing materials.

Problem
The Adaptive sports market is saturated with logos showcasing those in wheelchairs or with missing limbs.
It was important that the overall design represented all adaptive athletes. Adaptive athletes train and compete at
the same capacity a normal athlete would so the brand language must reflect their hard work and dedication.

Solution
The Branding is modern and subtle, but carries a sense of prestige with it. The primary logotype is stacked with specific pieces of certain letters hidden which is referring to the barriers an adaptive athlete must overcome to compete. The secondary mark is the acronym of Aztec Adaptive Sports and has the same meaning as the primary logotype. The secondary mark is utilized as a seal to add a greater sense of prestige to their stationary and athletic wear. A pattern using scattered pieces, which alludes to the moments that come together when an athlete achieves their goals, was also implemented to add motion and make the advertisements more recognizable.
