Overview
Traveling for a surf trip can be a true nightmare if not carefully planned. Between booking flights, paying for boards, and chasing swells a lot can happen. The goal for this project was to produce a series of infographics that helped the average joe book a successful surf trip.

Problem
Down the Line is geared towards college students and the average 9-5’er. Both demographics live by a tight schedule and on a limited budget. Obvious information such as flight time, prices, and destinations are important for a successful surf trip and should be shown, but there are other things that must be considered before departing. Things like currency exchange, how to travel safely in a dangerous country, and tourism spikes at popular surf destinations should be some of the first things one thinks about while planning a trip. It is crucial that the answers to these questions are represented in a way that is both easy to understand at a glance and aesthetically interesting.

Solution
A poster, which resembles a flight itinerary, was created to show the average surfer from Southern California when, where, and why their next surf trip should be Costa Rica. The poster compares swell height to tourism spikes so the viewer can plan a trip that allows them to surf the best waves with the smallest crowds. Also the poster contains information such as the exchange rate, flight time, weather, language, and an in-depth explanation of why Costa Rica really is the best place for a surfer to travel to. Along with the poster magazine spreads were published as well. Each spread visualizes a different piece of information that is crucial for the traveling surfer. The first has a map and scale that shows how much time in the water is lost to travel. The second spread contains a diagram that visualizes a safe way to dress when in a dangerous country. The Third and final spread pertains to the currency exchange rate when going to the four most popular surf spots.
