Overview
What started out as a way to get inspiration for an ad series ended up becoming a collection of hand rendered posters. I originally started this project with the goal of creating ads for four random businesses but keeping a common thread between them. To gain inspiration I supplied my friends with black and red sharpies, white out,
ink transfer supplies, and blank pieces of paper. After they completed their versions I realized they had become
a better poster series rather than ads.

Problem
My friends, who have limited backgrounds in design, had free will to create whatever they wanted with the tools they were given. Although they created impressive and original works of art they needed a slight amount of guidance to allow for more creativity. Finding a way how to channel their designs without restricting their creative freedom was a real challenge.

Solution
Supplying my friends with four posters that had four random items printed on them, was a way in which I could channel their creativity without inhibiting them. The process took about a month to complete, but I was very surprised with the end result. My friends took the elements they were given and created pieces that I could not have visualized. The posters they designed were not just original, but also very well executed. Some made bold statements while others simply added missing elements. At the end the project I realized this could also be marketed to kids as custom posters that they can manipulate and mount on their walls.
