Overview
Insight is a new indie record label based out of Southern California that gives customers new and unique musical acts. Not only does insight produce new music, they also have an in house marketing team that promotes their clients. Insight records needed a full brand and promotional material to market themselves among the musical community.

Problem
The Label was founded by former members of Joy Division, The Smiths, and Depeche Mode which sets them apart from the other labels due to their depth of knowledge and experience in the music business. Although they have the experience to support a record label, they lack the visual identity and brand language to truly set themselves apart from the rest. A look and feel had to be developed that shed light on the founders’ deep
roots in music and their ability to find new and exciting acts.

Solution
To give customers a better sense of Insight’s devotion to music, images of iconic moments from their past are used on their stationary sets and marketing material. The images are treated with an orange overlay that signifies the bold statement the founders have made on the music business and will do again with their new acts. It was also important to the founders of insight that a slogan accompanied their brand which is why “curators of sound waves” was made and used along side the logo. Along with a logo and brand other marketing materials were created too build hype around the young label. Posters, album covers, concert tags, and set lists were made as promotional elements. Even though the deliverables differed a cohesive look and feel was built so that everything related to one another.
